About Zach

Zach has a deep appreciation for public service and was the youngest city councilman elected in his hometown of Dover, Ohio. He campaigned for a seat on Dover City Council during his senior year at Otterbein University, where he received a bachelor's degree in political science. After his victory, he served as the Chair of the Human Resources Committee. After three years on the city council, a job took him from Dover to Des Moines, Iowa.
While in Des Moines, Iowa, Zach met his wife, Jeanette. Jeanette and Zach moved to Virginia in 2009 and Leesburg in 2016. Zach and Jeanette chose Leesburg to raise their son because they love the community-feel that Leesburg offers. His run for Leesburg Town Council to ensure that Leesburg continues to maintain the sense of community that living here provides.
Because of his work as a residential realtor, Zach understands the intricacies and implications of making the kind of decisions facing town council on land use, zoning, and retaining Leesburg as a destination for families and small businesses. Additionally, Zach is involved with the Catoctin Elementary School PTA, the Friends of Leesburg Public Arts, and was an active member of the committee that raised funds to erect the Stanley Caulkins Memorial in downtown Leesburg.
Jeanette, Zach's wife, is a member of the Leesburg Commission on Public Arts and works full-time at Inova Fairfax as a Volunteer Services Program Supervisor. They live with their son, Jackson, and Australian Shepherd, Taylor Sniffs, in southwest Leesburg.
Zach is running for the town council to maintain the sense of community that makes Leesburg special. This sense of community comes from a commitment to maintaining green space, preserving our historic downtown, and creating a robust and safe environment where residents can live, work, and raise their families.
